I really like the idea of supporting my local community and friends and family who are working hard to create or give a service to those around them. But, sometimes it’s hard to know who has the right spirit and drive behind them and who is worth supporting. So, I have to give a little shout out to a couple of the people and places here in Albuquerque that are well worth supporting!
First, is to the Corrales Grower’s Market. This summer, we got the best peaches and fresh veggies from the local growers in Corrales. Everyone is so friendly and happy to support the local community, you can just feel the positive spirit in the air. The times they meet and locations are on their website. If you’re going, send me a message, I’ll say hi while you’re there!
Second, is to my friend Steffanie Stewart. She is providing a ton of photography sessions for a very reasonable cost and getting her feet on the ground in family, children, and “just because” photography. Third, Flying Star. I think almost everyone in Albuquerque has at least eaten there once. Flying star is a family owned, community driven restaurant with many organic and vegetarian choices. They have awesome desserts and a wonderful atmosphere. Plus, all of it is made from scratch! www.flyingstarcafe.com
